Both Moloney Twin Brothers Win
Twin brothers Jason & Andrew Moloney both won their WBA Oceania fights at the Malvern Town Hall on Sat night.
1st up Jason stopped Junior Bajawa who could not beat the count of referee Wayne Ashdown in the 4th round. It was a shame as Bajawa was at an disadvantage right from the start with him slipping due to the soles on his boxing boots. Referee Ashdown correctly called 2 slips but he couldn’t be saved in the fourth when Jason unleashed a barrage of punches on him. Moloney always looked in control and with his good head movement and body punching, the Indonesian fighter was always going to find it tough. With this win Jason retained his WBA Oceania Super Bantamweight title.
Main fight of the night saw the other brother Andrew methodically pick apart the game Japanese fighter Ryohei Takahashi. Both fighters had their moments but the Australian was more dominate with the harder, cleaner shots in which all 3 judges saw in his favour and winning by UD. Trainer Brian Butler has done a very good job in teaching all the correct fundamentals to these 2 young fine boxers and it showed tonite. Andrew now has the vacant WBA Oceania Bantamweight strap to match his brothers . These are exciting times ahead for these twin brothers and the boxing world will be waiting in anticipation every time they fight.
